In her new collection, Baugher employs scientific sensibilities while exploring poetic possibilities of the human body. Both grounded and imagined, this work concerns the body’s development, the mind/body connection, nature’s influence on physicality, and the human form as depicted in visual arts. For whether we view the body as a benefit or a burden, it is, as Jorge Luis Borges writes, our sole companion.
